Chinese atv has spark and fuel but won't start.
Had the day off to look at the bayou. Poured less than an once of oil in the cylinder to trie help the compression. I turned it over a few revolutions and let it sit for 2 hrs to do it thing. Went to try to start it and it still wouldn't fire, although it did have more exhaust sound than before.
Got it out this winter, rebuilt carb, new spark plug, and fresh air filter. The machine is getting spark, and i checked the fuel pump and that seems to be working as it should because there is fuel in the carb bowl, but it will not start. No, it won't show up in a leakdown test. All you have to do is remove the valve cover. 4 bolts. Simply remove the valve cover and you will see the valve pushrod out of the rocker arm if that is the problem. If a valve pushrod dropped from its position, the valve stays closed.
I have replaced all the above, but the wiring was all messed up and wires not connected. I have replaced everything to the best of my ability using the close but not exact wiring diagrams I have found online, all appears to be correct. I'm getting good spark and fuel. Reinstall plug and crank with the throttle cracked about 1/3rd to ½ open. It sounds like you may be getting too much fuel. If you've got fuel, spark and compression then you should have a running engine.

Re: Has spark and clean fuel, wont start. the flywheel is a part of your ignition system and if its not exactly in the right place it will trow off the timing and will cause hard starting or even imposible to start/run. check the timing when you have it running and i woul do a link and sync.No Gas. In order for an engine to start running, the carburetor must have a supply of fuel. In many cases with small engines, there will appear to be gas when in actuality none is getting to the engine. Try rocking the engine back and forth to listen for fuel sloshing. If you have a gas canister, try filling the tank up and giving it another shot.You aren't getting gas then. Did you try cleaning the carb? Did you put new gas in before or after it started? It could have sucked old crap into a jet before you shut it off and changed gas. Also 144psi is pretty good.
